This appointment felt different,

I’m not one to dread my appointment with my endocrinologist. It’s an opportunity for them to download my pump and we discuss what’s been happening and my specialist makes changes that need to happen.

I had emailed my specialist prior to my appointment to give her a heads up about what I wanted to discuss at my appointment. We had many things to talk about, I’m due for a pump upgrade in less than three months and my boyfriend and I want to start planning a family.

You can probably understand why this appointment felt a little different. Planning pregnancy when you have type one diabetes is no easy task.

Overall my specialist was happy with how my diabetes is going, she made three changes to my insulin settings which is rare and I felt she gave her blessing for me to start planning pregnancy.

I felt happy after leaving my appointment, it was a good feeling to know that I’m doing all the right things and I’m on the right path.

Here’s hoping I can get my Hba1c down and my blood sugars in check before my next appointment.
